Is it worth getting the new sport video games each year or not?

I might be getting a xbox 360 but is it worth it to get the 09 sport games even though they make new ones next year.

Halo 3 technical help?

Last friday I brought my parents to Gamestop to buy a video game package- an Xbox 360, two controllers, and three games- one of them Halo 3. (They've decided to become gamers in their old age.) Everything works fine, except Halo 3. It refuses to load up any map. It goes very slowly from 1% to 29% loaded, then stops and resets to 0%. It tries a few times, then informs me I failed to load.

Every single map does this, including campaign mode. And the best part is, I can't just take it back to Gamestop and get a new disc because my mom threw out the reciept. -_-

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Pelican Multi-Game Adapter Question?

This is going to be extremely specific but I am hoping that MAYBE one person out there who is a gamer can help me out. I bought the Pelican multi game adapter so I can use my Xbox 360 and PS2 at the same time. It comes with little plastic labels that are supposed to snap right in to place but I have not been able to get one of them in. It seems to be impossible but there must be a way to do it. Any help would be great... I'm not holding my breathe for a tangible answer, though.

Can the RROD on Xbox 360's happen to anyone?

Under what conditions does the Red Ring Of Death happen? Is it completely spontaneous or are there common things that cause it like over use of the system or high temperatures? If I don't use it that much (I'm not like a hardcore gamer) can it just as easily happen to me? Any other info on how to prevent it (if possible) would be great.

Okay, so i have been playing my xbox 360 for like, a year now... and i want to hook up to live obviously... will my 1 month free trial still be their when i hook up? just curious. im worried if i was suppose to use it within a certain time frame???

what i want to do is just by the wireless router and just see what happends with the 1 month free trial thing.

all xbox pro's have 1 month free trial right? remember i haven't tried hooking up though.

no no im a big fan of the wii, the force unleashed on the wii is fuckin pro, i just think microsoft shouldnt have changed it too look like the wii. Also its not just the avatars the whole scrolling to the side thing is pretty wii-esqe and the way they did the menus or whatever

HDTV Questions + Blu-Ray, HDMI, Xbox 360, DVR?

I have a few questions.

I've had the Samsung LN32A450 for about 10 days. Have an Xbox 360 I have on it (well.. not right now, got the red ring of death about 2 hours after I hooked it up to the TV ), but it is an older model without the HDMI. Using the component cables with the switch on HDTV is going to be enough, right?

I went to my cable company a grabbed an HD digital box and DVR yesterday. Right now it is just connected to my TV using the coax cable. There is a spot for HDMI, would it be worth it to use HDMI instead of coax from the box to my TV?

I also ordered a Blu-Ray player off of Amazon and it comes with an HDMI cable. I plan on using the calibration DVD I downloaded/burned once I get it all hooked up. Is that going to be enough, or is it too complicated that a noobie like me may screw up more than help?

Also, regarding the HD cable, there is often 'ghosting' while watching football on HD channels. Can anything be done about that?

Where to put xbox 360 pro....?

Im getting one and want to make sure I take care of it. If I can't put it on carpet then where?? Someone said it was safer to keep it on top of the box it came in lying horizontally. Me and my mom are staying at my gma and gpa's house so its not like i can go and buy anything big because i have to get it home eventually. but any suggestions would be great.

Saving 360 games to Hard Drive?

I have a scratched up Madden 09. My xbox will read the disk, notice it's madden, let me play the game, but when i try to play an actual 4 quarter game or mini game, it freezes.

My plan is to borrow madden from a friend, save it to my Hard drive, and give it back to him.

Since my Xbox reads my scratched madden, will it be able to play it from my Hard Drive, since the one i saved was my friend's working madden disk?
